So, Stuart Wakefield, you're 'glad Gerry Murphy is learning', are you? So he's not so 'totally inept' after all? And Kev from Gomey carps about Skarz and hero Collins, and hides his embarrassment about his attitude to Gerry and the academy behind a bit of team re-construction... Come on both of you. Is it so hard to say you got it wrong? Gerry's team - including as I said some valuable ST imports and some academy lads - was chosen with a flair Stan T never possessed, and gave us the best and most timely win we could wish for.( Imagine Jamie Berrett given a key role by Stan!) Think about it.
Two reasons why there were few town fans at the leeds game. First, it was too expensive and second; these animals still haven't got out of their seventies animal magic days! Why would I want to take my family to this game to then be threatened with violence after it.

I paid £27 for my son and I at Leeds and it was one of the games I will always remember and that is after 48 years supporting town. Hope I dont have to wait another 25 years.

The reason Dean Hoyle is not going to rush the appointment of a new manager is to allow Graham Mitchell time to stake his claim for the job.
As others have said Ian Greaves Mick Buxton came through the ranks they both did great jobs on little money. Should Mitch get the managers job at least it would be with the back up of funds to take us forward.

Kev from Gomey i totally agree with you. On the basis of the many games last season and the two ive seen this term, Collins athough a good ball player is too lightweight;work on that and he ll be good, plus dropping him has improved his game,JS is too weak and NC makes mistake after mistake. I think Gerry should play Goodwin in the middle with JW on the bench or the other way round giving a fresh set of legs for the last 20 mins a period we are lapsing.Get a few players fitter especially fatty Williams and im optimistic, i hope to be back over for the Scuni game.As regards fans staying away from Leeds;fair play we need to say no to those prices and charge them the same for the return fixture as a protest, plus we dont like em!UP THE TERRIERS

Couple of things about the Acadamy people forget about. 1. FA sponsor some of the costs in the form of grants. 2.Sponsorship from other areas covers some of the costs and this would not necessarily find its way into the club by another direction. 3. If you dont have an acadamy, you still need to have players on your books to cover injuries, suspensions, etc - if you are trying to sign covering players up every couple of years, you get journeymen with no interest in the club who cost a lot more. - Granted we would all like to see an upcoming youth team like arsenal, but our boys are UK and ireland probably to qualify for the FA grant and not from France, Africa, Brazil and the like. It also proved to be our saviour when the bottom fell out of the purse and so still provides a cushion of sorts if it all goes pear shaped again.

I watch town now on odd occassions about 5 to 10 games a season, i used to go every game home and away. The reason why i stopped going every game is due to the expense football costs now. No offense but £27 to watch 3rd division(? 1st division) football is an absolute joke. You ask why it wasnt full people are skint and football is far too expensive, all over the country bar the premier less away fans travel and it will get worse.

It's a sorry state of affairs when you can't follow your team to your local derby, £27 for 1 game isn't too much to ask for surely?(Family of 4 i can understand in the current climate) Where's your passion for the club, I bet if it had been the last game of the season to Celebrate promotion you'd all have been there.

jeff the ref and chris from brighouse, see ur point but I'll always put supporting town 1st. Must admit, I didn't like being ripped off either but thats life these days. Maybe you'll put what you saved into a trip to Brighton on Saturday. Think we shud charge l**ds same to get in Galpharm. MIRF... No they wern't just in the family stand.
Stuart, Did you read my Academy post? There is no argument that these players aren't all going to keep us in The Championship, never mind get us into The Prem, but so what? By the same argument, it is unlikely many of the imports would survive either - GR, KP, PJ, DC, etc were all unable to hold down regular places a division higher. However, the point you miss is that we are not there yet by any means. Money talks and if and when we get promoted that will provide a huge influx of revenue so DH can look at the whole squad afresh, academy players and imports alike. Oh, and for the second week running, another Academy product JB is MOM and by a huge precentage of the vote. I begin to wonder just what GM has to do to prove the true value of our Academy set up - and it costs hardly anything as it is largely sponsored.

Pardon my ignorance. I follow all the news on numerous websites and have not seen, other than injury, what has happened to Simon Eastwood as by now he has gone from teenager to 20s has he not but have seen nothing anywhere.

DB, fair enough, pardon my ignorance but did Money achieve anything without money, pardon the pun. The league is littered with managers who achieved nothing with nothing but memoaned their lot that they were given nowt to spend. We all remember Buxton Greaves, achieved a lot without the funds but then were not backed by the board and then blamed for failure. My ideal appointment would achieve success without spending much more and then use DHs cash to boost the squad to achieve higher things. Who is that man? It would be a bold decision to appointing Mitch, would make me nervous and probably not a popular one despite any success the 2 have. But IG MB worked so why not him. Would anybody out there really want the job of appointing the next manager?
Brill town, lets just hope we kick on from this,Had say 'win at Brighton on saturday beat Orient at home on tuesday then give the lads the weekend off,if not training on that weekend.Leicester Loyal..Yes £27 to Master Bates i just could not do,But ,Michael Collins goal in last minute PRICELESS..

WHAT A GAME! The tactics employed by Sir Gerry were spot on. I was shaking before the match at the prospect of young James Berret in defence but what a brilliant inclusion it was. I didn't see the Port Vale game but i presume the same attidude and spirit shown for the infamous 79 minutes continued at Elland Road. WE LOOKED A DIFFERENT SIDE-and no matter what team Turnip would of played, I agree with other comments that we would of lost miserably. GOODWIN, BERRETT, COLLINS and ROBERTS played exceptional; Holdsworth, Skarz and Jevons i thought were poor.
Bring on Brighton!
Fantastic win, dubai was rocking sat night, never seen the dubai whites speechless. well done gerry and co.still flying the blue and white with pride.its all gone quiet in the vulcan
BRILLIANT! Town really gave it their all at Elland Rd as did the fans. Can your hear Utd sing? No, we didn't hear a thing from them all day.More of the same please.C'mon the Town.PS I'm still smiling!
